Trip Overview

Manaslu Circuit Trek – A Breathtaking Journey Around the Eighth-Highest Mountain in the World

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most spectacular and less-crowded trekking routes, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, remote wilderness, and rich Tibetan culture. This 16-day trek takes you around Mount Manaslu (8,163 m), the world’s eighth highest peak, through dramatic valleys, high alpine meadows, and traditional villages that are still untouched by mass tourism.

Starting from Machha Khola, the trail follows the Budhi Gandaki River upstream, passing through subtropical forests, terraced hillsides, and stunning gorges. As you ascend, the landscape transforms into alpine terrain with snow-capped mountains, Buddhist monasteries, and chortens guiding your path. The trek’s highest point is the Larkya La Pass (5,160 m), which offers panoramic views of Manaslu, Himlung, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II.

One of the unique aspects of the Manaslu trek is the preserved Tibetan-influenced culture in villages like Sama Gaon and Samdo, where traditional lifestyles, ancient monasteries, and warm hospitality create unforgettable experiences. The route lies within the Manaslu Conservation Area and requires special permits, adding to its exclusivity and natural charm.

Perfect for trekkers seeking a remote and adventurous Himalayan experience, the Manaslu Circuit Trek combines challenging trails, high-altitude adventure, and cultural immersion. It’s a great alternative to the busier Everest and Annapurna regions, offering peace, authenticity, and epic Himalayan scenery at every step.
