Trip Itinerary

Today morning you will drive through the winding road along the bank of the Trishuli River. On the way, you will observe villages, terraced farmland. From Dumre, you will head north to Besisahar leaving the main highway behind. From Besisahar you will then transferred to another Jeep which will pass by the bank of the Marsyangdi River. You will drive along the wide trail admiring the beautiful scenery on the way. You will explore terraced rice fields, forest and passes through streams and bridges before you reach the small village of Syange. At evening you will explore the Syange village: a village nestled at the bank of the Marsyangdi river. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Today morning you wake up feeling great and excited about the journey ahead. After breakfast, you will continue your trek crossing through suspension bridge at Marysangdi Nandi river. You will be walking along the bank of the river, crossing through jungles and admiring the majesty of the mountains. The first port of stop will be at Chamje for the lunch. You will then keep walking ahead entering through the stone arch gateway into Manang district. You then continue ahead admiring the meandering river below and short reach to Tal village. In the late afternoon, you will explore the village admiring it far-reaching, sparse and sandy valley floor. Overnight at tea house lodge

After breakfast, you keep trekking ahead crossing the rugged and winding road. Leaving the Tal village behind, you will venture into a narrow high walled rocky terrain and into the narrow entrance gateway. Today you will see how the scenery changes with the altitude. The scenery today is more alpine and dry because of the rain shadow Annapurna area and altitude gain. You will walk through the grasslands, pine forests, meandering along the waterfall and cliffs

After the breakfast, you will follow a gentle trail by the river and pine forest, which also involves several sections of steep ascent and descent with excellent viewpoints. Along the trek, you could enjoy the spectacular views of the Himalayas including Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV and you will also encounter hot springs where you can take a dip in and relax your muscles. The trail passes through the village of Koto from where you can see the Annapurna III towering above the tiny village’s traditional stone houses. From Koto, you will walk half an hour to reach Chame: the headquarters of the Manang district. You will explore the village in the late afternoon. Overnight in Chame.

The first half of today’s walk will be crossing through the steep, narrow and dense forest. You will be crossing through the steepest section of Marshyangdi Valley. However the second half of the trail veer right into an open, large and dry rocky valley. Both on the right and left side you will see the mighty range of grey rocky mountains, completely dry. Further, walking across the dry plains you will reach to Lower Pisang. Then you will further walk to Upper Pisang where you can explore Buddhist Monastery. Upper Pisang is one of the most medieval and rustic villages nestle high on a hill in a very dry, cold and windy area.

After breakfast, you will walk an hour of gentle ascent on a trail which will gradually rose above the valley floor and Marsyangdi river. From the top of the hill, you will see the spectacular view of the Manang Valley below. The sweeping view of the dry and alpine valley below looks, even more, astounding with the view of snow-capped mountains encircling the valley. You will then head ahead through the alpine forest and far ahead from the trail you will see the only airport on the east side- Humde Airport. You will continue through the alpine forest before arriving into another beautiful valley. The view of Annapurna III becomes more distinct and closer as you walked ahead past the Humde Village. Crossing the Humde village, you again trek towards beautiful village of Barga nestle at the foot of Annapurna III and from the village you could observe the magnificent view of Annapurna IV and Gangapurna. After 20 minutes walking past the Barga village, you will reach Manang. Manang village is much more like a traditional tourist destination, with the house made in Tibetan style. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Today you will rest in Manang because you are now at the height of 35oo m and you need some rest to allow your body to acclimatize to the altitude. During your rest day in Manang you can explore the village, go to the Stupa and you will hike to beautiful lake of Gangapurna. Overnight at Manang.

Today, you will ascend a steep, 500m to reach Yak Kharka. The trail passes through Tenki Manang leaving the Marsyangdi Valley. The trail ascends through steep slope and vegetation gets sparse and landscapes look more barren and rocky. The trails pass along through Jarsang Khola Valley and you will reach Yak Kharka at 4000m. Overnight at Yak Kharka

Today you will climb high for 2 hours before descending slightly to cross the river at 4300m. You will then climb up to Thorang Phedi. You will have to start extremely early tomorrow, so a full night of rest is very important. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Today is a long day trek and you will start very early at 4 am to cross the pass by 9-10 am because of the weather conditions. In the pass, the wind will get stronger after 10 am, which will greatly affect the trek, especially at the Thorung La Pass (5,416m). The trail is steep but it is safe and routinely used by the trekkers. Sometimes heavy snow at the top can also be a problem to cross the pass. After four hours of the uphill climb up to the pass marked by the prayers, flag will honor you with awe-inspiring views from the top. Today is the day, you will cross one of the world’s biggest pass and the feeling itself is overwhelming. You will then trek down another 4 hours until you reach the holy town of Muktinath. Muktinath is a sacred site famous for both Hindus and Bouddhists.Hindu believe that Muktinath is as sacred as the place of salvation. They believe that taking a bath a the water here will lead them to salvation after death. ForBuddhistt, it is a place where guru Rinpoche( Padmasambhava) mediated. Here you will finish off your trek on foot and then take a Jeep/Bus to windy town of Jomsom. You will ride in a different landscapes after Muktinath.
