It depends which brand you prefer. Usually, you can find hundreds of trekking shops selling varieties of trekking and expedition gears around Thamel. There is few branded gears outlet like North Face, Red Fox, Sherpa, Black Yak, Mammut, Mountain Hardwear etc. You can also choose to buy low priced gears if you consider it for using few times only. You also have an option of renting some of the gears like sleeping bags, tents etc in Kathmandu.
Getting a sim card is easy in Nepal. You can get sim card upon your arrival in international airport OR even buy in local shops in Thamel or anywhere in Kathmandu. You just need your passport copy and two passport-sized headshots. After you get a SIM card, you can top up your balance and buy a mobile data (4G or 5G). You have an option to buy an eSIM also.

AMS is generally caused by acute exposure to low amounts of oxygen at high altitude esp. above 2,400 meters. Some of the symptoms of AMS are Dizziness, nausea, headaches, and shortness of breath. There are some measures to alleviate AMS like drinking lots of water, acclimatization and descend down to a lower altitude. In case of serious emergency on AMS or if immediate treatment is needed then you will be taken to the nearby hospital or back to Kathmandu.
Yes, many hotels and restaurants in trekking areas sell bottled water. Locally purified water can also be found in some areas where you can pay to fill up your water bottle. The other option could be carrying a water purification tablets or liquid and using that in spring OR tap water.
Well, this depends on the region where you’re trekking. These days internet / Mobile data can be found in many trekking areas. We recommend you to make a special inquiry beforehand for the updated information to our staffs.
You could do both for many trekking routes. There are some trekking areas where the guide is mandatory. But we usually recommend trekkers to take a guide with them for their easiness and also to get an in-depth perception of the region where they’re trekking.

There are two seasons in Nepal which are considered favourable for trekking. The seasons are Feb-May and Sept-Nov. Teahouse generally means a local lodge/guesthouse opened by a local where you can get basic accommodation and food. The teahouses don’t offer luxurious accommodation and food like an urban area. It offers a basic food and simple accommodation and is clean and comfortable also. These days most of the teahouses offer internet facilities and some also provide a hot shower with extra charge.
Most of the trekking in Nepal ranges from 3 days to 3 weeks depending on the area of trekking. The difficulty of the trek depends upon the maximum altitude you’ll reach, walking hours and number of days.
