It’s a classical and challenging trek and you will need a crave for adventure but every step you move ahead is worth every difficulty you encounter through. This great trek will take to one of the highest passes on Earth, the Thorong La pass at 5416m/17,765ft and then you will gradually descend to sacred sites of Muktinath. Trekking via Muktinath, Jomsom and the apple orchard of Marpha you will then further lower down to Hot Springs at Myagdi on the bank of Kaligandaki River. You will then hike uphill through the forests and traditional villages of Magars before you reach to Poon Hill –a spectacular point to watch a sunrise over the mountains.
Besides the spectacular and magnificent Mountains peaks, the warm and sincere hospitality of the Gurung Magar, Manangi and Thakali people along the way is bound to fascinate and touch you. It’s a huge and an unforgettable achievement.

Today morning you will drive through the winding road along the bank of the Trishuli River. On the way, you will observe villages, terraced farmland. From Dumre, you will head north to Besisahar leaving the main highway behind. From Besisahar you will then transferred to another Jeep which will pass by the bank of the Marsyangdi River. You will drive along the wide trail admiring the beautiful scenery on the way. You will explore terraced rice fields, forest and passes through streams and bridges before you reach the small village of Syange. At evening you will explore the Syange village: a village nestled at the bank of the Marsyangdi river. Overnight at tea house lodge.
Today morning you wake up feeling great and excited about the journey ahead. After breakfast, you will continue your trek crossing through suspension bridge at Marysangdi Nandi river. You will be walking along the bank of the river, crossing through jungles and admiring the majesty of the mountains. The first port of stop will be at Chamje for lunch. You will then keep walking ahead entering through the stone arch gateway into Manang district. You then continue ahead admiring the meandering river below and shortly reach to Tal village. In the late afternoon, you will explore the village admiring it far-reaching, sparse and sandy valley floor. Overnight at tea house lodge.
After breakfast, you keep trekking ahead crossing the rugged and winding road. Leaving the Tal village behind, you will venture into a narrow high walled rocky terrain and into the narrow entrance gateway. Today you will see how the scenery changes with the altitude. The scenery today is more alpine and dry because of the rain shadow Annapurna area and altitude gain. You will walk through the grasslands, pine forests, meandering along the waterfall and cliffs and passing through Dharapani, Odar and Bagarchhap villages before you reach Danakyu. After the breakfast, you will follow a gentle trail by the river and pine forest, which also involves several sections of steep ascent and descent with excellent viewpoints. Along the trek, you could enjoy the spectacular views of the Himalayas including Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV and you will also encounter hot springs where you can take a dip in and relax your muscles. The trail passes through the village of Koto from where you can see the Annapurna III towering above the tiny village’s traditional stone houses. From Koto, you will walk half an hour to reach Chame: the headquarters of the Manang district. You will explore the village in the late afternoon. Overnight in Chame.
The first half of today’s walk will be crossing through steep, narrow and dense forest. You will be crossing through the steepest section of Marshyangdi Valley. However the second half of the trail veer right into an open, large and dry rocky valley. Both on the right and left side you will see the mighty range of grey rocky mountains, completely dry. Further, walking across the dry plains you will reach to Lower Pisang. Then you will further walk to Upper Pisang where you can explore Buddhist Monastery. Upper Pisang is one of the most medieval and rustic villages nestled high on a hill in a very dry, cold and windy area.
After breakfast, you will walk an hour of gentle ascent on a trail which will gradually rose above the valley floor and Marsyangdi river. From the top of the hill, you will see the spectacular view of the Manang Valley below. The sweeping view of the dry and alpine valley below looks, even more, astounding with the view of snow-capped mountains encircling the valley. You will then head ahead through the alpine forest and far ahead from the trail you will see the only airport on the east side- Humde Airport. You will continue through the alpine forest before arriving into another beautiful valley. The view of Annapurna III becomes more distinct and closer as you walked ahead past the Humde Village. Crossing the Humde village, you again trek towards the beautiful village of Barga nestle at the foot of Annapurna III and from the village you could observe the magnificent view of Annapurna IV and Gangapurna. After 20 minutes of walking past the Barga village, you will reach Manang. Manang village is much more like a traditional tourist destination, with the house-made in Tibetan style. Today you will rest in Manang because you are now at the height of 35oo m and you need some rest to allow your body to acclimatize to the altitude. During your rest day in Manang, you can explore the village, go to the Stupa and you will hike to the beautiful lake of Gangapurna. Overnight at Manang.
Today, you will ascend a steep, 500m to reach Yak Kharka. The trail passes through Tenki Manang leaving the Marsyangdi Valley. The trail ascends through steep slope and vegetation gets sparse and landscapes look more barren and rocky. The trails pass along through Jarsang Khola Valley and you will reach Yak Kharka at 4000m. Today you will climb high for 2 hours before descending slightly to cross the river at 4300m. You will then climb up to Thorang Phedi. You will have to start extremely early tomorrow, so a full night of rest is very important. Overnight at tea house lodge.
Today is a long day trek and you will start very early at 4 am to cross the pass by 9-10 am because of the weather conditions. In the pass, the wind will get stronger after 10 am, which will greatly affect the trek, especially at the Thorung La Pass (5,416m). The trail is steep but it is safe and routinely used by the trekkers. Sometimes heavy snow at the top can also be a problem to cross the pass. After four hours of the uphill climb up to the pass marked by the prayers, flag will honor you with awe-inspiring views from the top. Today is the day, you will cross one of the world’s biggest pass and the feeling itself is overwhelming. You will then trek down another 4 hours until you reach the holy town of Muktinath. Muktinath is a sacred site famous for both Hindus and Bouddhists. Hindu believe that Muktinath is as sacred as the place of salvation. They believe that taking a bath a the water here will lead them to salvation after death. To the Buddhist, it is a place where Guru Rinpoche( Padmasambhava) mediated. Overnight at Hotel.
Today you will follow the other side of the trek, most of the landscape you will see is barren and looks like a desert. You will follow the trail by the bank of Kaligandaki River. The trek most of the time descend through the barren, arid and stunning view of the valley until you reach Jomsom. You will feel and feel the wind tickling and whistling through your face while approaching Jomsom. You will stroll around the town of Jomsom for a while and continue trek ahead to Marpha. Marpha is home to legendary apple orchids. Here you can try a variety of apple products such as apple pies, wine, and brandy. Overnight at a guest house.
Today, you will trek down through the valley following the Kaligandaki River. On this trail, you will be mesmerized by the stunning mountains view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Fishtail. Throughout the trek, you will cross many beautiful small villages observing the daily chores of locals. Overnight at a guest house.
Leaving the Kalopani village behind you will the trek through beautiful, exciting and rocky trail with many winding turns. You will make a stop at Rupse waterfall and observe the world deepest gorge from the viewpoint. Then you will trek ahead following the rugged and rocky road until you reach the Tatopani (Hotspring). Tatopani is famous for its hot springs, and this is the best place to relax your body after the long trek. Here, you could take a shower, dip into the natural hot spring, drink and enjoy local food and relax. Overnight at a guest house.
Today is another long day of the trek. After relaxing Tatopani, you are again ready for another adventurous day. Today you will climb about 1600 meters up crossing the beautiful Magar and Gurung villages en route. The landscapes will be greener and you will see many locals people working in their farms and engaging in the day to day activities. From Ghorepani, you will be able to see Annapurna South, Himchuli, and Tukuche Mountain. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Today, very early in the morning you will hike an hour uphill through the stairs and into the rhododendron forest to Poon Hill at an altitude of 3210. From the top of the hill, you could see the spectacular range of mountains. The view tower provides an unobstructed view of the sunrise over the towering Himalayas. From here you could enjoy the view of more than 20 of the highest mountains including close views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. You will spend an hour taking pictures and immersing yourself into nature, and then you will hike down to Ghorepani and take a hot breakfast at a hotel. Then you will descend through rhododendrons and oak forests and through thousand of stairs until you reach Tikhedhunga. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Today morning after breakfast you will hike down lightly for about 3 hours through the villages and crossing the suspension bride until you reach Nayapul. Then after about 2 hours of drive, you will reach the Pokhara city. You will finish off your trek in this serene city and here you will enjoy the magnificent view of towering Himalayas.After arrival in Pokhara, you can decide to stay there for a couple of days or head for another adventure.
